Receptionist

We are looking for experienced receptionists to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. No veterinary experience is required, but a passion for customer service and a passion for animals is!

Peninsula Vet Emergency and Referral Hospital offers a wide range of clinical services including a 24-hour emergency service, surgery, internal medicine, and anaesthesia. About the Role

We are looking for a full-time or part-time receptionists to fill various shifts including evenings and weekends. The position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple incoming phone lines and directing calls
  • Scheduling appointments and communicating booking requirements to clients
  • Communicating patient arrivals and emergencies to clinical staff
  • Finalising invoices, processing client payments and balancing the till
  • Assisting clients with pet insurance applications
  • Maintaining a clean and presentable front of house
  • Completing a variety of administration tasks

About you

We are passionate about getting the right people in the right roles. We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a general receptionist role
  • Ability to provide high levels of customer service
  • Exceptional phone manner and communication skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work efficiently and with initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • A professional and positive demeanour

About the role

This role is available part time or full time and includes a mixture of evenings, nights and weekends. Leadership opportunities are also available within the team for nurses wanting to strive for future growth and development.

About you

We seek a committed and highly motivated nurse with strong clinical skills to join our busy nursing team. To be considered for this position, you will have a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, experience in emergency and critical care, a desire for further education and training, and the ability to contribute to a positive team culture.

The position would be well suited to nurses who demonstrate the following:
